Washington University After Dark

WashU All-Gender A Cappella Since 2001

ABOUT US

After Dark is a non-themed, all-gender a cappella group from Washington University in St. Louis.

Since our founding in 2001, After Dark has always been a group of music-loving, fun-loving students from all over WashU. We have performed everywhere from our home at WashU to Disney World and even the news! We also perform our own concerts every semester; most notably, our concert “A Light From the Darkness” that we put on every spring.

A highlight of every year is preparing for and competing in ICCA, where we have won Third Place Overall (2024, 2018), Outstanding Vocal Percussion (2024, 2020), Fourth Place Overall (2020), and Outstanding Choreography (2013).

What really makes After Dark is our members. Some of us have been singing since the day we were born, while others of us have just started. Outside of our group, our members study almost every major, and some members are involved with choir, opera, jazz bands, rock bands, musical theatre–you name it! We all contribute to every performance, whether it be through original arrangements, choreography, design, or leadership. But no matter what we do, we all have one special thing in common: our love of music.
